COVID-19 UPDATE (15/5/20)
Despite some easing in social distancing restrictions, the reality is that we will need to continue with our Zoom Sunday Mass for the foreseeable future, accessible via this Zoom link.
However, the good news is that we are able to now have 10 people (adults and children) attend Sunday Mass at St Luke’s Catholic College, in addition to ministers (the priest, deacon, readers, acolyte, musicians/choir members). So, we are asking people who wish to attend one of our upcoming Masses to nominate their family to attend. You can use this form to nominate your family to attend. We will draw names out and advise who can attend each week.
Also, next Saturday, May 23, we will pilot having a Communion Service every hour from 9am until 5pm inclusive at St Luke’s Catholic College. In between the Communion Services, Eucharistic Adoration will take place. At all times, we will be limited to 10 people in attendance (in addition to any ministers) and social distancing requirements must be observed. No booking is needed for these services, however, we will only admit 10 people at a time. It may be possible to arrange for smaller groups to attend a Communion Service at other times by appointment. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to request this.
Baptisms are now able to take place, with attendees limited to 10 people (in addition to any minsters). Please book for a Baptism by emailing email@example.com or calling 8840 8521.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Everyone wishing to attend Mass, a Communion Service or Baptism needs to first register at this site: https://www.massregister.com.au/. You will need to click on the ‘Diocese of Parramatta’ and then ‘Marsden Park – St Luke’s’. This is for your protection as it will allow you to be contacted if anyone who has attended St Luke’s services contracts the virus. Only people who have registered via this site will be able to attend any St Luke’s liturgical gathering.
Deacon Tony Hoban
Welcome to St Luke's
Catholic Faith Community
St Luke's is Australia's newest Catholic Church community, located in Marsden Park, western Sydney, within the Diocese of Parramatta.
The community came into being with the appointment of Deacon Tony Hoban as Pastoral Director on January 1, 2018. Supported by his wife, Annette, and a start-up Advisory Group, planning has begun for the life of the new community. The intention is to develop a community of intentional disciples of Jesus Christ, working in collaboration with St Luke's College. Our gathering place for Mass and other events will be at St Luke's Catholic College, Frontier Avenue, Marsden Park. We are looking for people who desire to grow in faith within a supportive community to join us.
We acknowledge that the Darug people were the original custodians of the land on which we operate. We pay our respects to elders past and present, and acknowledge the Aboriginal people for their custodianship of this land.
